... wasn't very difficult, even with the blowing wind and stinging sleet. We got to the top and were treated with nice views of the city and snowy mountains behind. ... It was hazy. The wildfire's plumes had floated down from sun valley and turned everything yellow. At a gravel turnoff 5 miles west of the Monument, I pulled off and jumped on Pink Performance toward the monument (It costs half if you are a bicyclist).
