Historical Traveler Reviews BEST WESTERN PLUS A Wayfarer's Inn and Suites Kingman

I travel all the time for business this is one of the best hotels i like..

This is one of the best hotels i have stayed at. The rooms have been remodled some years ago. Its definitly very clean.

The staff is very nice and helpful with everything. They have a perfect full complete breakfast. They even have high speed internet and also a fitness room. Whenever i stay in kingman for my work, i usually end up here at this hotel.

        Good stay on Route 66

Quiet location on route 66, close to many shops and restaurants.

The staff was very nice and helpful, the king bed room was clean and very comfortable.

Moreover breakfast was great! One of the best during a 20days trip on the road.

        Great Place

The owners of the place really don't do themselves a service when describing their property. They are too modest. This place ended up being my best hotel deal on a six state trip. It's family owned so the level of pride that goes into maintaining the property is great. Staff is friendly, the lobby and rooms were spotless and the design of the parking courtyard provided for a safe place to leave your car overnight. I was traveling with a dog and it was a perfect place to do so - usually dog friendly hotels are dumps but this place was really well maintained. Free high-speed internet actually worked where in many hotels it doesn't. In the morning there was a nice breakfast in the lobby (free) which was clean and had enough choices that I could find something I liked. I would highly recommend this place to any weary traveler. It's a great value for the price.

        Charming motel

It is a standard motel but with some very nice touches. The decor was good and the rooms, foyer etc clean and fresh.

Good free comprehensive breakfast - great for an earky start

It was great to be able to drive up very close to the room and unload our bags without having to go through a troup a greeters, valets, bellboys etc.

Not a hotel you want to spend time in but as a place to sleep on route it was one of the best motels I have visited

        Nice Place

Clean room, comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Only disappointments were that the jacuzzi was closed for renovation and they had the TV on playing the news during breakfast on Christmas morning which was depressing.

Best Western, Wayfarer is a really good place to stay

We stayed at the Best Western Wayfarer overnight on our way back from the Grand Canyon to Las Vegas. They boasted of clean rooms and they really were! This was one of the nicest small Inn's that we have stayed in. Nothing fancy, but nicely appointed rooms and friendly staff who gave us a map of things to do while we were there. Defintely small town America, but we liked it. The mini breakfast bar was great. Well taken care of and kept clean by a very nice lady. The room rate was reasonable too and breakfast included. You might want to be careful about the Best Western across the street, the train runs behind the hotel and it has to be at least a little noisey. Thank you so much for a pleasant stay.

A Little Peace on Route 66

We spent a few nights in this motel while we were visiting relatives in Kingman, AZ.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The rooms were newly refurbished in 2004 so they still quite nice. The mattresses are pillowtop and quite comfy and relaxing. Each room has refrigerators, microwaves and coffemakers to give you all the comforts of home.

There is a wonderful breakfast buffet that is free. It was superior to the usual free continental breakfast as in addition to the usual fare of bagels, danish and muffins there are eggs,"make you own waffles", biscuits and gravy and french toast. Everything was tasty andamply supplied throughtout the breakfast hours.

The lobby is tastefully appointed and has a pretty centerpiece fireplace which must seem very inviting in the wintertime.

I highly recommend this place for anyone passing along Route 66 who needs a nice place to rest from "crusing"

        Resting on Route 66

Ah! You've been on the road for 4 and a half hours and the Best Western sign appears on the horizon. You know what you're getting with a Best Western and we really enjoyed our night here in Aug 2005. Huge rooms, spotlessly clean and a good powerful shower. There is a pool and hot tub in the centre of the resort. The breakfast was a hot buffet style, a good standard with plenty to eat. All in all very good value, and a recommended stop-off between grand canyon-Vegas. The area has plenty of historical interest too with the Santa Fe railroad close by and the main road is on the site of Route 66.

This hotel is great! It was clean and the breakfast was awesome. The beds were comfortable and I got a good night sleep here! The rooms were roomy and it look like the rooms were recently remodeled. The Best Western Kings Inn across the street looked nice too. The Breakfast at the A Wayfarers was a full, hot buffet breakfast which was free for hotel guests. It was the best Best Westen I ever stayed at.

        Great free breakfast too!

If you find yourself in Kingman, AZ for the night, this is a nice spot to stay. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious and quiet. The breakfast buffet (which was included with you room price) is really excellent! Get there on the early side as it does get crowded. We had fun going to Cracker Barrel for dinner, but you have to be in the mood for down-home Americana! Where else can you buy chocolate Neccos???

... a very nice wander around and lunch before the heavens opened for a short period. There’s lots to look at in the town so we spent a couple of hours just having a look in all the shops. It’s a pity we didn’t stop here last night as it’s a very unique town. Took lots of photos, including the restaurant we had lunch in which had a diner inside and lots of memorabilia for sale.

... Pamela Anderson posed for a Playboy shoot in the centre of town - with the Route 66 sign behind her. So, Kingman has Route 66, a museum and the claim that a poor actress was arrested for indecent exposure! What a place, perhaps we should book an extra night. I trust that the excitement of spending a night here will not encourage either Mandy-Jane or Sylvia to follow in the old Baywatch Babe’s sordid footsteps this evening!

The young lady reached under the counter, pulled out a trifold brochure, put a sticker on it with a series of numbers and said, "here, fill this out and bring it with you next time..or not." That was easy! We gathered our precooked roasted chicken, a can of beets, a ...

Back at camp we made a yummy pasta dinner with olive oil, garlic and cheese. Accompanying this was salad and fresh garlic bread. Lots of oohs and aahs during this meal as the hike sure helped everyone have a hearty ...

We drove down part of Route 66 which intersects with Kingman. The weather now is back to being warm. Yippee. We have been for a swim and will shortly will head to bed following another wine.
