    ... it continued through the night and into the morning. If you have ever experienced heavy rain and hail while camping in a travel trailer you will understand how loud it is.     To get to the U.S. at Sault Ste. Marie you have to take the International bridge over the St. Marie river which is where Lake Superior dumps into Lake Huron. The Canadian Shield has been replaced by a bit of farmland, but the trees are still plentiful, I even saw a maple syrup farm. It's all about the bridges today! For a toll of $4 you get to cross the awesome Mackinac Bridge which takes you from St. Ignace to Mackinaw ...

    ... for us it was National Fudge day and the island's oldest fudge maker Murdick's Fudge was giving away free fudge so of course we got some free and bought more - just like they wanted! Fudge had its beginnings on the island in the 1887's. There were quite a lot of fudge shops to choose from.

    The Chuck Wagon was a great place for lunch with their claim to have the best hamburgers on the island - which must have been true ...
