... Whitewater River was amazing. While only maybe a foot deep in the deepest sections, I was actually able to lay flat and submerge myself in the river to get wet and cool off. It felt so good in this 90 degree heat. I treated water to drink here, had lunch, and took an hour siesta in the shade by the flowing creek. I forgot to mention that Jay and I finally crossed paths here again. His Achilles tendon feels better and he purchased news shoes ...

... with gold flecks in (there's a lot) which starts a gold rush and stops the complaining for a while. It's a good hour longer we have to walk and eventually they can see the car park way off down in the distance so feel a lot happier and as we descend we come to a lovely creek which Will & Charlotte are very happy to play in and we're happy to sit in the shade. Just a short walk back now and everyone can get some water from the car before ...

... the pool & chatting to fellow stayers. We did this until cocktail time, this time a strong vodka mix coupled with cheese & biscuits. Dinner was cowboy style at the Cowboy BBQ Resturant, a true meat feast! Frankal even walked to and from the Resturant but I do feel if you hadn't been able to smell it four doors away he would have refused to go any further. Back at the ranch (Motel) we sat in the heated jacuzzi chatting to new arrivals. An amazing place we must come ...

... four Modernist works, among them a pair of Van Gogh, a Rembrandt and a Manet---all on loan from a wealthy Palm Springs patron away on vacation. If you're planning to join us this winter this will be a mandatory visit. A stroll amidst the hundreds of folks enjoying the various stalls, displays and entertainers along the street ending the evening with a terrific Mexican meal at Los Casuelos. Home too late, too full but thrilled to ...

    Finally California

Vaya Con Dios, Arizona. Hola, California. I did manage to get a short ride in this morning before I got on the road for California. A good day of driving and with the time change to Pacific time, I was able to make it past Palm Springs before stopping for the night. I will try to make my son's house tomorrow, if the weather permits. Supposed to rain tonight, so I don't plan on riding in the morning.
