... Tuesday, ringing in the New Year in Eastern, Central and Mountain Times. That closed our trip and we were home by New Years day, where squirrels had been vacationing in our home while we were gone. All in all it was a great adventure celebrating my MBA and our engagement. We drove over 1,600 miles and traveled a total of over 6,000 miles. We were happy to be welcomed home by family, friends and not to mention Gracie, Zeppy and Elsa! Until our next adventure.....

Today is our last day in America, well technically if our plane is delayed 16 minutes we will be here one more day but no matter.

We decided to do the hop on hop off bus tour again, so after breakfast and a cram session we walked to the Santa Monica Pier to get our tickets. The cram session wasn't for any type of exam it was trying to fit everything in our suitcases. Walking along Santa ...

... been keen to visit for a while. We all love hanging out at the beach. It was a perfect day for it and the pier was lots of fun. We didn’t realize the Santa Monica pier is actually the end of Route 66! There was plenty of retired people, husbands, wives, mates, groups of friends all had traveled the route from end to end. Quite a feat really, and they were all pretty happy with themselves.

The highway, which became one of the most famous roads ...
