... centre and had about 20 minutes to see the big old square, churches and a very Mexican street. This is the historic part of LA and was very different to modern bits. They were filming a TV programme whilst we were there, so we saw a few old cars etc parked to look like Mexico in the film. Suitcases off bus, 15 min walk along Hollywood Boulevard to our hotel. ...

... Cows house in Beverly Hills! We had dinner just off the Blvd when we got back at an old style diner where I had my first real American meal for this trip - a hotdog (which if you seen in the photos - is no normal hotdog) and a shake which has gone down as the best shake I've ever had! We are now waiting for a flight home. We are ready to come home but have loved the USA - it's ...

... the Hollywood Bowl and into the city, we passed a district of local shops and I noticed one called The Record Collector. How could I resist, right? So I talked the girls into letting me stop to check it out. The place is run by this really old, sweet guy, and he sells almost exclusively Classical vinyl. Not my cup of tea, but I stopped to talk to him for a bit. He brought out a few beat up rock LPs for me to peruse, and I declined, but I stayed long enough to hear his story about ...

... the flight up 2 days and I wouldn't be back to Fiji yet. So I had to switch to Tonga. Another flight got moved forward 2 days so I lost a few days in Fiji and other flights kept moving times but not so drastically. My flight to Tuvalu had been the only one through CheapOair and that has been a nightmare because they are dragging their feet on a refund. I will not book through them again.

After all the leg work was completed and I ...
