... through. I do not own any sandals and did not bring along any old trainers to use, but came up with the idea of bringing a pair of shoe laces to thread around my flip-flops, thus turning them into makeshift sandals. It seems to work pretty well. The first river ford is very easy as the water is shallow. Another one a couple of hours on though is a little more tricky as the river is wider and deeper, the water this time coming up to the top of my shins, and ...

... on after a break. Beside, the next part of the trail is mostly downhill.

Its actually more tiring than it looks for the first hour after lunch as the trail continuously dips up and down crossing crevaces in the valley floor. Black bear Technically the list should also include many-a-deer and guitarfish/some sort of Ray, ...

... to Heavenly unsure of the quality and quantity of snow. Most of the lifts were open and the intermediate and main trails had good snow. Gary was a bit disappointed because there wasn't a lot of off piste action and most of the advanced stuff was closed. I didn't mind as I could quite happily ski from the top to the bottom and the views were awesome. The best part was we hardly skiied the same place twice as the mountain is huge even compared with Cadrona. It was busy on ...

... again! Dave, needless to say was elsewhere, probably searching out bargain Levi's or trying the local beer, we didn't ask. Onwards to Lake Tahoe through beautiful woodland that must be exciting to ski, perhaps one day. We reached the lake at 6,200 feet altitude and visited The Rev. Victoria Warren's church. Victoria's day job is Priest at St John's in the Wilderness Episcopal Church, available for weddings ...
