    Before we left Idaho we had one last treat: a jet boat ride again on the never ending Snake River through part of Hells Canyon which took us down and then back up a class four rapid. Class five is deemed life threatening. The canyon walls in some parts rise a mile above the water.

    We got off to an early start and headed down to Highway 1 to Salinas and then Laguna Seca to go to the World Superbikes Championship. Eugene Laverty..an Irish guy ..Aprillia team won the race. He was in a pack of 4 riders from the start...but one unfortunate rider who was in the lead for some time fell off his bike ..got back on ...way behind everyone ..but caught up and only finished 4th last ..he was the fastest on track ...
