We were tired after travelling all day and wanted 2 rooms with no reservations. Found this nice little motel in Skowhegan with a very nice gentlemen at the front desk who treated us as friends and provided us with 2 rooms with a view to the gardens. Rooms were exceptionally clean and bathroom was spotless. Provided donuts, juice and coffee for breakfast and gave us the name of a very reasonablly priced restaurant for dinner. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

... border. After many phone calls and 4 hours we finally got a tow truck the US.
During the 4 hours, however, it was cool observing how things were handled at the border. I felt like I was on a field trip to check out how it was like in the day of the life of a border patrol officer. We talked with the two patrol officers on duty and the female officer was telling us her war stories from when she was a beat cop. It was pretty neat hanging out at the border, but I was ...
Our little travel group has grown to ten! A few new additions . . . We've been planning this adventure since last fall . . . And now it's just around the corner! We'll spend a couple of days in Venice (been there before and swore we'd come back to this magical place!) . . . Then we'll hike for a week in the Dolomites. And ...

As we entered the park and started to climb the low mountains to get up and over them from the seashore, there were some beautiful pull offs, but we skipped them. Darn!

... over Logan International Airport and about 3 miles east of downtown Boston - what a view! As we continued on our way, the weather only got better, and the views even more spectacular - some of the houses and estates were beyond comprehension in size and grandeur.
Approaching the coast of Maine, I was reminded about how beautiful the rocky shoreline is, and how much I had enjoyed being there, even on foggy, rainy days. Today in the sunshine, it ...
Colby is one of oldest liberal arts colleges in country located in a town named Waterville. In Waterville I was starting to feel like I was getting up into a part of Maine that's more North Woods and less cutesy New England. As you go farther north in Maine the towns look more industrial and plainer, with fewer of the classical New England architecture. Colby has a very ...
