We were tired after travelling all day and wanted 2 rooms with no reservations. Found this nice little motel in Skowhegan with a very nice gentlemen at the front desk who treated us as friends and provided us with 2 rooms with a view to the gardens. Rooms were exceptionally clean and bathroom was spotless. Provided donuts, juice and coffee for breakfast and gave us the name of a very reasonablly priced restaurant for dinner. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

... at our hotel (a Hampton Inn), we got some dinner recommendations from the front desk and tried The Lobster Trap and Steakhouse in an adjacent town (Wilson), just across and on the Kennebec River. Gene has been hungry for clams and Carol wanted some clam chowder. They got both! The chowder was good; the claims not so much!! They were too large!! Carol and I also shared a 2# bag of mussels. Not as good as those back ...

Alex's contribution to Trevor is that Alex taught his young protege how to do a fist bump (he formerly could only do a high-five).

After taking care of the plane, it was back to Val's house, where we caught up with Rob, Val's husband, and Val's mom. Just as Val's dad ...

With the temp in the 20s all day we are READY to get going. Still getting things loaded in the RV and have scheduled eye doctor and dentist visits to be as sure as we can be that we are healthy and ready for several months 'out of Dodge'.

Our 2006 Navion H is ready to go, all systems are go and we have a place for everything we will be bringing.

Since Maine is a summer tourist destination, well-known for both lobster and blueberries, and used to host traveling salesmen back in the day, at various spots along the state's roads there are wonderful, fifties style food stands. They might just have home-made, hand-scooped ice-cream, or it could be a well established seafood extravaganza. A few hours into our journey, we fall prey to one of the more famous stands in the ...
