We were tired after travelling all day and wanted 2 rooms with no reservations. Found this nice little motel in Skowhegan with a very nice gentlemen at the front desk who treated us as friends and provided us with 2 rooms with a view to the gardens. Rooms were exceptionally clean and bathroom was spotless. Provided donuts, juice and coffee for breakfast and gave us the name of a very reasonablly priced restaurant for dinner. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

... Rolling at a leisurely speed of 1 mph. Ahhhh, if I could have video recorded our grand entrance and set it to music! haha.

After we parked the car on the US side, the US patrol officer let us use their phones to cancel our hotel reservations that was supposed to be near Baxter State Park and continue calling AAA because 45 minutes came and went. There were issues with jurisdiction of getting a towtruck sent from the Canadian AAA and not being able to travel ...

Our little travel group has grown to ten! A few new additions . . . We've been planning this adventure since last fall . . . And now it's just around the corner! We'll spend a couple of days in Venice (been there before and swore we'd come back to this magical place!) . . . Then we'll hike for a week in the Dolomites. And ...

... We got all of the bags in again, and we left Alma as scheduled at 9:30 am.

The weather was again blue skies all the way, after an early fog 'burned off.' Alma is right across the Upper Salmon River from the entrance to a Canadian National Park, The Bay of Fundy National Park. It is not one of the heavily used ones. There is an improved two-lane road that runs (winds?) through it. If traveling straight ...

... instrument clearance I had filed, but air traffic control had no record of it. We had to sit there for almost 10 minutes while we re-filed and then got the clearance. Eventually, we got our clearance and set off to the north east. We were actually in the clouds for about the first 15 minutes, then between layers for another 20.

Finally, the clouds started to break up and we could actually see our surroundings, and this just in time: we were ...

    Waterville - Colby College

Colby is one of oldest liberal arts colleges in country located in a town named Waterville. In Waterville I was starting to feel like I was getting up into a part of Maine that's more North Woods and less cutesy New England. As you go farther north in Maine the towns look more industrial and plainer, with fewer of the classical New England architecture. Colby has a very ...
