Travel Blogs from Skowhegan
Had a wonderful overnight with Bev and Louie Dow as we traveled up to Boothbay Harbor, Maine and then onto Skowhegan, Rangeley Lakes and then Errol, NH before heading home to Freedom via Route 16.
Yesterday I carpooled to the common Ground fair. It's a country fair set up years ago to bring people together to share trades, skills and thinking. The first exciting part of my road trip was the carpooling. Lesley who I had met the day before had suggested we drive up and that we offer space up in the car to anyone else going from the same area. Car share is almost ingrained here. It was a whirlwind trip filled with many adventures, sites and sounds we'll never forget...and we have the thousands of photos to prove it! :-) Thanks for ...
We were tired after travelling all day and wanted 2 rooms with no reservations. Found this nice little motel in Skowhegan with a very nice gentlemen at the front desk who treated us as friends and provided us with 2 rooms with a view to the gardens. Rooms were exceptionally clean and bathroom was spotless. Provided donuts, juice and coffee for breakfast and gave us the name of a very reasonablly priced restaurant for dinner. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
