So to clear up the confusion, Aurora is a suburb of Denver, but in some parts of the States they refer to the suburb / township they're from rather than the larger city. I guess its like someone saying they're from the North Shore instead of Auckland. Or Fendalton instead of Merivale. Or Bryndwr instead of.. well no one says they're from Bryndwr - what a weird welsh word. ...

... meltdown (which she recovered from and napped without too much fuss), it was sort of a silly decision, as we had been mentally prepared to take the late flight anyway. It was a breakdown of logical thinking, and we're still going through the post-mortem analysis. We still have things to learn, apparently.

We made it back to DEN with awake and mostly cheerful kids, who then fell sound asleep on the way home.

... ranges, ranches and mountains of Colorado. We passed over the inter-continental divide and even got to see a deer and coyote on the drive. The best part of the expedition was that we weren't having to drive or navigate! We've called it an expedition because the weather turned into a snow storm. It was cool driving into the snow flying at the windscreen. You know it's cold when the snow freezes to it before the windscreen wipers can wipe it off. Everywhere we looked was white! ...
