... found it, was sufficient to entice us to steer the Elephant onto the I-5 or any other Interstate. We wound our way north through the mountains on the little used back roads. The pictures and captions tell the story of our week but by Sunday the 10th of August, we were in Spokane Washington planning our route to Canada without using a single mile of interstate but at least remembering the remarkable man whose vision and design helped to shape modern America.

... get the heck out of the area as soon as we can! why you ask? well let me just say that not one person that drives in Portland knows how to drive and the truck drivesr dont care about anyone on the road but themsleves. Next time i'm driving a tank and lets see who rules the road then! lol!

... we'd ignored that fact because we didn't want to face it. Boarding was uneventful and we were on our way home! Flight was actually scheduled to only be 10 hours 33 minutes. Yay! - not 11!

The long flight was not as bad as it sounds. We saw 4 movies (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, My Week with Marilyn, Sherlock Holmes, The Big Miracle) and a Big Bang Theory Episode. They served food 3 different times - twice hot.
