... famous Wangfujing snack street ( ing). This is a street of wonders and nightmares! Everything you can imagine is served on a stick to eat as a snack such as scorpions, seahorses, bats, quail eggs, grubs, grasshoppers and other snacks such as pancakes, doves, spiders and tripe. Needless to say I just gawped and didn't buy anything to try but at the end I found a very respectable sweet shop selling moon cakes so tried a few of them ...

We got to see the beauty and design of Chinese architecture and landscape, eat real traditional Chinese food, and see and hear entertainment of Chinese culture. It was amazing. Tomorrow, we are going to the Temple of Heaven, and the Pearl market. We have to meet in the lobby at 6:45, and we have a full day!

... it made for a good weekend; editing resumes, practicing Chinese at job fairs, visiting local markets and seeing a concert. The next week I spent preparing for midterms and was rewarded the following weekend by cooking Chinese food with one of my teachers from last semester.

Cooking Class with Lang Laoshi
