Today we got up early and headed off for Repton (near Coffs Harbour). We stopped off at Grafton to wash the van and arrived at the caravan park at 11am. Janice and Steve were already there, having got there just 10 minutes before us. It is a lovely caravan park right on the Bellinger River. We set up camp and went a fish and chip lunch just up the road at Mylestom. We sat around and enjoyed catching up over a few drinks. It is great to see them ...

Out of mischief, just at the end, I steer us onto a gravel bank, midstream and we arrive back 25 seconds late, she glares at me as if I have spoilt her opportunity for selection but agrees that it had been good fun.

Now getting in the boat didn't seem to be a problem, but getting out was another story. Jane tried first and couldn't achieve lift ...

... I crossed the road and sat there watching the water. I did not move a lot, and see, on the dead branch that hung over the water I see, a kingfisher! There he goes for a dive, plouf in the water, back up on the branch... watches and hopla, dive, plouf, back on the branch. Oooohhh I was so happy to see that! I did not move an inch, until I realised my feet and ankles were itching, damned, mosquitos! So I ran away from my little kingfisher to be inside, protected by mosquito nets ;-)

... out here as we visit one or two every day yet so many of them are teeming with jellyfish.
The drive and coastline is a lot easier in New South Wales and the views are more interesting as in Queensland as you drive along it is just suger cane fields after fields. Airlie was a beautiful spot and they made a lagoon for you to swim in as sea unsafe and it is the spot to go to the Whitsundays from, the marina was full of ...

    ... which was lovely.

Our last nite we had a great session for sundowners, followed by a communal dinner, more drinks and finally to bed. At about 1am a southerly gale blew in and we were scrambling outside to fold up the awning and retrieve chairs, table and mats as the wind howled thru our camp. By morning all was reasonably calm and we all went looking for incidentals which went north. Farewell Arrawarra.
