We awakened this morning to 44 degrees, 20 mph northeast wind, and an anchor that was buried in the hard sand bottom of Banks Chanel, After considerable effort and super numb hands, Maggie and I got the anchor up and aboard as we headed down Masonboro Sound and the short cut thru Shinn Creek to the ICW. Now we were headed dead downwind and that lessened the effect of the bone chilling wind.
... there you can tour, but we didn't. I think the best part of Wilmington was the old houses, reminded me a little of Charleston, SC. I just love that character and charm!
During our stay we ate at the following places: Shuckin Shack (not a great place to take kids) it's all fresh seafood, literally right off the boat, hence the name Shuckin. Island Hots (kid friendly) was a great lunch place. They mostly have hotdogs, with fries, ...
