Yet another set of quiet days. We headed in the right direction to skip construction traffic. Also, after some looking we managed to find a spot to stop for Southern Food (family here always goes for chains, this time I wanted to actually have some so we stopped BEFORE hand). Mary's Southern Kitchen, I think was the name. Very good, and very happy we stopped, also managed to get a lunch for the next day out of it (thanks to the amount of food).

... line of thunderstorms that was moving from Lake Charles, LA to the northeast. We were wrong.

Anticipating some light and intermittent rain, I had layered up with my TASC Performance white long-sleeved t-shirt and a heavier regular short-sleeved t-shirt over it. We left the Hampton Inn Downtown Mobile at 8:15 and quickly found I-10 heading west. The new destination was Austin, TX.

Our trip began uneventful through the remainder of Alabama and Mississippi. We ...

... he didn't think we could make it (as we passed, he saw several RVs in the parking lot), so we continued on down the street. We drove several blocks and did not find a way to turn around. By this time we had decided to just continue on to Mobile and maybe stop in Biloxi on our way back to Texas.

As we drove toward Mobile, we discussed staying in Mobile for two nights. We would be getting to the campground earlier than ...
