... I crossed Blue Angels Blvd and passed the main gate for Pensacola Navel Air Station, home of the Blue Angels. I should have turned around and taken a picture. The main gate is painted the blue and gold colors of the Blue Angels. I kick myself now. Glad to be staying at a hotel. It is so hot out here. It is 95 degrees but feels like 103. Yow! We were going to camp at a place with a water park but it is to hot. I was glad to here we were going to stay at a hotel. We went to visit Bret Favre's home town. Small. The town was called Kiln. We went out to eat at a sea food joint. Mmmmm yummy yummy. ... line of thunderstorms that was moving from Lake Charles, LA to the northeast. We were wrong.

Anticipating some light and intermittent rain, I had layered up with my TASC Performance white long-sleeved t-shirt and a heavier regular short-sleeved t-shirt over it. We left the Hampton Inn Downtown Mobile at 8:15 and quickly found I-10 heading west. The new destination was Austin, TX.

... easier to just stop on the way instead of backtracking, so Cheryl called to find out what the parking situation might be like. The lady said that there was plenty of room for an RV in the lot. Yes, we have played this game and lost before. To our delight, the parking lot was huge and there were other busses and trucks parked in the lot. We had plenty of room and easy access in and out.

... he didn't think we could make it (as we passed, he saw several RVs in the parking lot), so we continued on down the street. We drove several blocks and did not find a way to turn around. By this time we had decided to just continue on to Mobile and maybe stop in Biloxi on our way back to Texas.
