We enjoyed our overnight stay in Tucson, great company and the most amazing suite. After we received our morning beverage delivery, we packed up and and loaded the car for the home stretch. Home was so close yet so far away.
I think that we limited our stops on this leg of the trip. Stopped for a gas and breakfast in Eloy AZ and then for gas and lunch in Yuma. We did stop one last time for Bob's Killer Brownies in Pine Valley CA ...
... in period dress. Fun. All this time the Las Golndrinas were riding around the park inviting people to come and see their show. Then out in the park there were more dancers and watchers to watch and take pictures of. Another walk through Casa de Estudillos with pictures of the back yard. The horse show was very good. These gals are all riding side saddle as they perform their manuevers. Great ...
... 4 hours sleep, so much better than usual. When I woke up I felt the need to go to the beach, so I packed up and kinda stumbled down to the beach. Once I was there I noticed the seagulls and remember I had a little extra bagel. So I spent about 15 minutes feeding them until this pelican comes up and scares them all away. Then this pelican come about three feet away from me and let me throw some bagel into his beak before he flew away. Looking forward to another exciting day!
We woke up in the morning and decided to go for a jog by the ocean. We had biked approximately 1500 miles so a little jog shouldn't be anything, right? Wrong. Three miles caused a massive amount of soreness the next day. Apparently, jogging requires completely different muscles than biking. Funny thing, our plan was to jog, jump in the ocean, and then go get coffee at a nearby coffee shop. We jogged, jumped in the water, and began walking towards the coffee shop ...
... Princess, Copo the Happy Galgo and Chico the amazingly sweet Podenco. Airport will be crazy as we also meet up with my dear friend Silvia of Galgo Connection Spain...just wish we had more time together..but at least we can bring a piece of her heart here to the states as she brings us Dartacan, Electra and Copo on this trip. OK folks 10 days to go..we, Marylou and I will have lots of stories to tell I am sure....stay tuned to our great galgo adventure!!
