Don't stay here
I have had to stay here twice when my normal hotel of choice was booked. The first time a room attendant stole a number of my shirts and the second time my vehicle was broken into. Another college has had similar experiences here. The management could care less.
Friendly Staff Made The Difference
I had been a bit hesitant about staying at this property after reading some of the reviews. However, the hotel had a wonderful price that I couldn't resist.
Upon arrival I was met at the entrance door by a very friendly gentleman who helped me with my luggage and led me to the front desk.
The front desk clerk that checked me in was very nice and was very helpful by giving me directions to the nearest seafood restaurant.
(which was excellent by the way)
My room had a great bay view and was clean. The lady from the front desk called me after we checked in to make sure we were happy with our room. This customer service went a long way with me and my family.
For clean, very friendly service at a good rate - along with a great location - I would recommend this hotel.
Many Happy Returns!!
I read the reviews here before I stayed at this hotel, so I was prepared for the worst. However, I was definitely suprised at what I experienced. This hotel was not only not half bad, but one of the most enjoyable hotel visits I've ever had.
Upon arrival at the well-lit drive of Ramada Inn Bayfront, I was pleasantly suprised by how clean it was outside. Not even a cigarette butt on the drive! The folks at the desk really made my family and I feel very welcome. They were remodelling the bar in the lobby, but even the dust was minimal. We had a room with a view of the bay that was out of this world. Our stay included breakfast, and the service in the restaurant made us really feel at home. When we checked out, the clerk at the desk knew who we were when we walked up. He was just as pleasant as the young lady who checked us in.
All in all, our visit to Corpus Christi was one of the best long weekends we could have taken. We will go back to the Ramada Inn Bayfront.
Upon check-in, the staff was not friendly and did not want to help. The room was dirty and the hallways smelled of smoke. The pool was dirty. I hated it. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
If you pay more than $49 per night, go elsewhere. For the same price as a weekend price, you can stay at the Omni. Water stains on the ceiling, the door to the room looked like it was 100 years old, peeling, flaking paint and all. Several bugs found their way into the room, and smoking is allowed in the hallways. We were on the 9th floor. Staff was not freindly, and did not even ask how the room was upon checkout. They were not open to complaints.Beware
First off, the staff were pleasant and helpful. From the front desk, to the housekeepers, everyone was very nice. However, the rooms were very worn. Not exactly what I had expected. There is defiantely wear and tear in the bathrooms, from past leaks, etc. The room was clean, but lots of stains and obvious wear on the carpets. I really liked the inroom movies which showed movies that are in the movies right now. My kids loved coming home to watch the movies. The pool was a major disappointment. My kids were just glad to have someplace to swim, but the water was very cloudy and you couldn't see the bottom. I was reluctant to let them swim, so I called down to the front desk. I was told the manager checked the water and the ph was right, so there was nothing wrong with it. They said, it sometimes gets cloudy when it's hot. I really wasn't happy with the explanation, but try telling that to two kids under 8. They wanted to swim (of course they did) and I had to trust them. When I went in, there was algea (sp?) all along the sides, and I just couldn't stand it. We were leaving the next morning, so I don't know if it got any better or not. But I thought I would let others know in case a pool was an important part of your vacation, as it was for my girls. Also, there were no lights in or around the pool after the sun went down. From my point of view, a very dangerous thing indeed. Also, the picture made it look like it was right on the shorline drive, but it is a block away. Not too bad, but a bit of a disappointment there too. There is a Wonderful 1950's diner across the street named City Diner. Well worth going there for dinner. Prices were excellent as was the service. All in all, it wasn't a very good experience for me, and I wouldn't stay there again. I got the $59/$69 rate from the internet and I suppose I got what I paid for. I was hoping for more, but we live and learn. If you just needed a place to crash and not a place to "vacation" this wouldn't be a bad deal.
Guaranteed? Don't count on it
I called Ramada Reservations 5 days in advance to book reservations for 2 nights. I told the reservation taker that I would ONLY book if he could Guarantee me a early check-in of 12 noon. He called the hotel and was told "no problem at all" The early check in was noted on the reservation confirmation. When I arrived at the hotel, I was told that normal check in was 3pm and guarantees on early check in were NEVER given, a room was not available and would not be until 1pm. I found other accomodations. The parking garage was almost empty, I assumed that guests had left early in the morning (Monday) yet they had not reacted to keep their obligation of a guarantee of a 12pm checkin
Hated the Ramada
I stayed in the Ramada for 2 weeks, the maid spilled coke on my lap top destroying my lap top. I tried to get them to reimberse me, but to no avail. They claimed they were not resoponsible and I was left with the $798.00 bill. My laptop was originally 2400.00 and only 4 months old when the damage occured! Do not trust them nor stay here if you wish to keep your items safeguarded!
Ripped by Ramada
Got ripped off! Cancelled reservation with three days to arrival yet still got billed. Franchise offered no assistance or recognition that I had cancelled service. Word to the Corpus Visitor.....Stay away!
Ramada Bayfront, Corpus Chrisit
Rates vary wildly but always clean and civilized,
some rooms with bay view. Free covered parking garage, diner next door, cajun cafe around corner.
Close to bay, shrimp boats. Excellent value at $49.00 for two. Breakfast free at $59.00 for two but food definately not impressive.....Give it a try but don,t pay too much as in high season.

... Mark lost his Colorado hat (that he had somehow held on to the whole year) in the Corpus Christi airport. But the day wasn't all bad. This western side of the Gulf is a much busier place than we earlier thought. It has tourism of course, but what we noticed the most is the huge amount of OIL production throughout the area. There are so many oil rigs out in the ocean; I counted 14 from our walk on the beach. ...

After a brief time, we continued on our way to the main area. This is where the professionals were working. I was kind of disappointed since they all were still sculpting. Guess tomorrow is when they will be finished. I think they are working throughout the night to finish them, but I think I got some good pictures anyway.
