    Sunday: Took it a lot more slowly ... 262 miles ... and stopped at most rest stops and view points along the way. Minnie was much happier! The highway followed parts of the Oregon Trail and it's amazing how the pioneers managed to get anywhere when you see the mountain passes they had to cross. I spent the night at a KOA in Mountain Home, Idaho and was able to watch the eclipse of the 'supermoon' from there. Very cool! ...

    ... Bunyon and the big blue ox, and the clutch wouldn't disengage. ****. By now, it's pouring rain. The clutch slave cylinder bolt had loosened up. A quick tighten, and we're back on our way!

    ... his car in 1975. He was a local boy who ran distance and was 4th in the 1972 Olympics in the 10,000 and held every American record from 2,000metre to 10,000. He was a James Dean kind of character and his death was a great shock to all. He is a legend around here. The plaque that marks the crash site has various objects left as tributes to him by visitors.

    As the US Government had shutdown and all National Parks were closed, we decided to make just one stop on the way back to Tahoe. This was at the Oregon Dunes. We weren't able to see much, again due to the shutdown, but did get a glimpse of the beach and the long dunes that lined the shore. For dinner we checked out the Mill Casino Hotel and RV Park. Brett restrained from trying his chances at gambling again as we did not want to ruin the winning ...
