What another wonderful day in Northern Michigan! We started the day with a long bike ride to a Lighthouse a few miles north of our campground along the coast. Then we road our bikes along the Big Sable river to a place called the Hamlin Dam. Lots of kids were fishing there. We had to get back to the RV for lunch because we had to switch sites for our 2nd night here by 1pm. After we did that we put on our bathing suits and got back on our bikes to head across the street ...

What a great morning! The sunshine returned so we got up and out early to catch the 8:30am ferry over to Mackinac Island; we also took our bikes along. Mackinac was so special and to think I didn't even know it existed until yesterday. Coincidently the only Michigan entry in our "1,000 Places to See Before You Die" book was the Grand Hotel which was on Mackinac. Check! There are no autos on this ...

From there we went on to Manitowoc, WI, boarding the RV at 2 p.m. Although the forecast was looking stormy and rainy, the weather moved ahead of us and we had clear sailing. The ...

... there was no evidence of the storm at all - no puddles, no debris on the ground, nothing. Just lots of very green grass! Our day was spent driving around, ultimately arriving at our destination of Ludington - first, we drove to the Lake Michigan side of the state - that lake is humongous - 50 miles wide! We drove through Muskegon, stopped at a roadside fruit stand in Pentwater for fresh cherries & raspberries, passed through Silver Lake where massive ...

Left at 0700 and rode 500 feet for breakfast because the sky looked like it was going to open up.
Did the Tunnel of Trees, then stopped for custard at Bop-In in Bay View, Michigan.

Stopped for lunch in at a bowling alley/restaurant called Tucker's in a cute little town called Northport, Michigan.

We rode by the lake almost all day today. Just really gorgeous scenery.

    Onward to ...
