    5PM (Chinese time) crossing the equator. Another first.

    6PM (over South China Sea) just left the Philippines behind. Looks like it could be pretty stormy below the clouds.

    7:15PM (over Hong Kong) started descent into Guangzhou. Lightning all around the plane,

    7:20PM whoa - I think we just dropped hundreds of feet in one hit. Turbulence is really bad.

    7:35PM on the ground.

    ... Pitt Street to catch our big white vehicle to Canberra. I slipped the girl inside a $20 note so we could depart at 11am as opposed to 12 noon.
