Day 5 – Bandon, OR

We decide to walk off today’s buffet brunch—where I tried biscuits and gravy for the first time—by heading directly to the beach. Again, we have an absolute blast jumping, rolling, sprinting, hopping and frolicking around on the mini sand dunes. The beaches here are one giant, natural playground!

The ride was 56 miles in length. We climbed over 4600 feet. May not sound like much but 90 percent of the climbing was done in 15 miles near the end of the day. We had some grades of 11 to 12 percent. And what a great downhill!

As of this writing none has materialized. Tomorrow is supposed to bring a second, more powerful front into our area.

To take advantage of our second day off we head ...

Exploring The Coast South Of Bandon

A travel blog entry by jilnmike

Today is our last day off. We want to see the coastline south of Bandon. The first place we stop is Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge. Asphalt walkways large and smooth enough for handicap access makes walking the bluffs that overlook the refuge very easy. We take the furry ones along as we explore this portion of the coast. At one point we stand on a bluff overlooking the western portion of Bandon and ...
