... GPS monitoring (barring any unfortunate software upgrades) and computery things. Today, the lighthouses bring historical significance to the rugged coast and offer a sense of permanence with structures built to withstand the toughest weather. And because they were often built on headlands jutting out into the ocean, the setting for each was terrific.

... High school he attended. We stopped at the Coos Bay Boardwalk to see the history of this timber port and view the way it has changed over its time of development.

Back at the house Tully had cooked Roast Chicken and we had a great meal with a nice local c******nay. Afterwards we played a game of Ticket to Ride which was fun and Linda beat us all. We have had a lovely couple of days with very generous and wonderful people.

... evening, Ari & Charysse host a gathering at their house. We meet most of Ari’s family, Charysse’s uncle who came all the way from the midwest, and a few of Ari's old college friends.

After the gathering, a sleepy family hits the sack quickly. Still feeling wide awake, I head down to the beach to listen to the hypnotic sounds of the surf for a while and then take advantage of a late night dip in the hotel whirlpool.
