A lovely gem of a place to visit

We had a visitor for coffee this morning, Dingo who we met yesterday at Burke’s Grave at Innamincka. He came into the caravan park last night around 5.30pm having had his camper trailer hitch break when coming through to Cameron’s Corner. Cobar, a most interesting town
... for us it was easy enough as there was no one else around, would hate to try it out when there were more than a few people parked.
The lookout looked down into the mine and across to the new water resevoir called "Newy". We decided to go and sit by the banks, do the internet 'stuff' that needed to be completed have lunch and push off up to Bourke and perhaps camp at Gundabooka National Park.

... Walgett in terms of lock-down. However it was the first town we saw that was completely enclosed by a big levee to keep flood waters out. The reason is the Barwon River - one of the big rivers in north western NSW. There was a rest stop down on the river banks so we stopped there for lunch. ... with Brenda and Bernard (family friends of Phil) we caught up on all the goings on in Bourke since Phil left - it didn't take all that long. One stabbing, one pub burnt down, people got married and most people had left town!!
