... 5:30 pm, so traffic was heavier. As heavy as it probably gets in Idaho Falls! Our “staff” had gotten a motel on the north end of town, and had given good directions, so soon we were at our destination point. It was still about 80F so we had a table outside and had an enjoyable meal, Lynne & I had steak, Marina a whole rack of ribs, which she couldn't finish and Tamara had salmon with a lemon dill sauce. We wanted to see the salt flats but we were wrong
in thinking they were anywhere close to Salk Lake City. There is a big salt
lake near the city which sometimes dries out into salt flats but the one we
wanted to see was over three hours away. It was a very strange drive to get
there, all there was around us was salt and ...

There is only one major road from Twin Falls north across the Snake, so we backtracked and took route 93 north. In just a few minutes we were in countryside, with large ranches and fields under irrigation from the Snake River. This valley is called The Magic Valley. For a while we were behind a pickup truck with a cute dog in the back. Every time a car came from the opposite direction and thus by the pickup, ...
