      Oct.10th

We left Dummerston and took a scenic highway. The hills were finally showing some of the famous color we were told about. We stopped at a high viewpoint on Hogback Mountain and we could see the colorful hills stretching off for miles. We were so glad we took the slow scenic route today. In a few days we'll start to travel further and take the interstate highways. After a bit of shopping we spent the night ...

We started our "Western Trip" this afternoon. Morning was cleaning the house and "closing" procedures for the winter. Though this entry is way past overdue, I must admit that the past two weeks have literally been a whirlwind...

Starting with a crazy, fun sleepover at the center on July 12th to say good bye to the kids as I prepared for surprising my parents back in the U.S.

Followed by a potentially threatening and terrorizing typhoon sweeping through the Philippines on July 14-16th

Leading to consequential flight cancellations and rerouting to Manila ...

Started our journey at 6AM, was anyone else up that early? We departed to a beautiful sunrise and no traffic! Great way to start the trip. Got to our 1st stop for breakfast, Shane was a big spender we went to Burger King, woo hoo... Came out of the building and was walking to the bike when a lady walked across in front of me heading towards a police officer. He told her to go back to her car,she mumbled to me as she walked by that she ...

      Last Leg Homeward to PA

A travel blog entry by mrighter on Jun 30, 2014

... if we could save anything by bringing the car back a day early. 35$ was worth it, so we quickly unpacked, first at my house, then Paul's. We vacuumed the interior and wiped down the dash and doors. The car was in remarkably clean condition in spite of the miles and dusty/muddy days that we dragged in on our shoes.
We were sad to say good-by to the great white Malibu. It sure made the trip much more comfortable.
