          ... hot for staying
at too many freedom camping spots without air conditioning so we went
to Magic River Resort near Guildport Mississippi. $18 a night with
Passport America, a pool (which half the family is using while I type
this), small playground which Kaitlin enjoyed for a few minutes and a
very quiet stop with only 15 RV spaces. Tomorrow we head to Louisiana
and maybe a stop in New Orleans if we can Google how that will work
          with an RV.

... Vernon is an ‘official guide’ for foreigners so we had the benefit of his extensive knowledge and were also able to view the rocket test stands from the vantage point of the old Information Centre tower. Lindell cooked up some great southern fare, some we’d not tasted before – delicious.

The last couple of evenings were cool enough to spend sitting in the garden around the fire pit chatting and watching the antics of the birds in the yard/garden.

... Locals will genuinely appreciate that we’ve made the effort to take these simple measures…because so many others do not. To that end, in both Canada and in the States I have reached a complete no-tolerance point for large groups of Pacific Rim-based tourists who descend on a photo location and have NO consideration for anyone else who might already be there composing and taking photos. I get it that in Tokyo and elsewhere it’s a ...

... which was destroyed by Katrina). The water came into the house a foot above the porch and of course, it tossed furniture around and many pieces had to be sent out for restoration and reupholstering. Also love the windows which are triple hung and are 9 feet tall. The first 6 feet can be opened. All the wood in the building is cypress which is why it has weathered so well. It doesn't hold water and warp and in humid weather doesn't swell ...
