    Venice. Had the worst sleep. Ended up watching Netflix most of the night. Change of plans because its so hot. Jason recommended we stay away from Downtown as the heat is intensified in the city centre not pleasant. I got up and went for a walk early. Went down to venice Pier and then along the boardwalk. A lot of homeless people sleeping around there. The further along I got (near Muscle Beach) the worse it got, and I started to think maybe I shouldn't be walking around here at ...

    ... room wouldn't be ready until 2pm. So, we did what any self respecting tourist would do, we went on a 5 and 1/2 hour tour of LA city, movie star homes & beaches. So quite incredibly three quarters of the sights on our list were covered on our first day!

    ... I'm sure it'll be a different story on the way back to NZ. The flight over was long, slept for about 10 minutes the entire flight. The crying baby 4 seats over wasn't much help, but the noise cancelling headphones at least cancelled some of that noise out. I'm still here at the airport waiting to be collected.
