Aug 25-28 JNM (Sam in NY with Tony camping) Enjoyed our 3 night stay at Kate and Nik's: 5131 Penn Ave. Reminded us of the apt building in Alex. We did the Duck Tour, saw a lot of sights, Squirrel Hill walk around, bought teas, watched RedBox movies, and Highland Park. Not impressed with the slum feeling. Took 4 hours without traffic. We then strolled along to a mall, where I found a place that said "Welcome to Pittsburgh". It was an information shop, and the young man there was very helpful.I'd read that this city also has "Ride the Duck" so I thought it would be fun to experience this again. Here it's called "just ducky trips"

Finally I "checked in" :P to the Walmart Supercenter in Youngstown, PA. There was heavy rain and thunder all night-- it was incredible! I've resolved to chill out in Youngstown all day tomorrow-- so far there's been too much driving and not enough chillin'.

... of the battlefield, and on the gray and misty morning with the tentacles of Irene sweeping the battlefield, it was eerie, and pretty moving to learn more about what had gone on here nearly 150 years ago. After the tour, I went back and said hello to Chris and he showed me the Cyclorama, 360-degree painting that really makes you feel like you're standing on top of a hill watching the battle take place. Pretty amazing!
