      We go this room, with AAA, for $90 and its once of the nicer hotels with a breakfast.

      ... derricks, we encountered a thick dust storm blown up by the strong winds. It was so dry and uncomfortable Ana managed a bloody nose. The sun set in the haze. We passed the city of Bakersfield and continued east out of the valley, over a few mountains, and into the Mojave Desert. This is the hottest place in America by far, but tonight wasn't too bad. It was a tough drove but we soon made it to some Carl's Jr. Burgers and a couple Motel 6 beds in Barstow on old Route ...

      From there we toured the train museum. One of the re-occurring themes in our travels is that Dad has yet to see in any museum or display with a Lionel train or accessory that he does not already own... Just an observation... not a judgment.

      From Barstow we are off to the Bagdad Cafe... You know the movie. Neither did we... Well, it was big in ...

      ... family turbine is somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-15 years.

      Follows are a few road going pics and a few of those I took at the ghost town. Hope they are interesting.

      Just a little aside here. Thanks to our wonderful son and daughter-in-law for buying us dinner at the Olive Garden here in Bakersfield, Ca.

      ... comfort, speed, and handling, it's defiantly a step up from my 1.6 back home. We arrived at our LA hotel and checked in, as it was Saturday night we had already agreed that we had to hit the clubs so as before we had even unpacked we showered, threw on some fresh garms and ordered a taxi to take us to sunset boulevard. We got the taxi to drop us off at the east end of sunset blvd with the intention of walking back west crawling whichever bars/clubs took our fancy. ...
