    Day 70

Couldn't resist the Lord Tennyson quote (altered for my benefit).

Destination today is Barstow, CA via Death Valley, NV.

Whilst the ride yesterday was reasonably tiring today's was a bit epic - ~ 380 miles ~ 8 hours.

and - it just got hotter and hotter ! ~ 103f.

If the state of CA. paid for these monsters, you can bet some politicians in the state enjoyed a significant kickback. There had to be at least a thousand of those things on the two sides of the mountains. My understanding is the payback on ...

... we just needed three seats we could pull down the rear two seats and get an even spacier loading compartment where we could now easily store all our bags. :) Inside there were only single chair sests, no "sofa" even in the back. :) There were even seperate overhead air nozzles for your air-condition convenience. So all in all a nice car upgrade. :) As we were cruising down the freeway in our new improved rental we saw a freight-train with six engines and (according ...
