We stayed at the Stratosphere which is at the one end of the strip. This is the hotel with a big oval ball at the top, some 40 stories up. The oval ball is a scenic bar with 360 degree views of Vegas, as well as 3 roller coaster rides right up there, like totally bizarre. Vegas is off the charts extreme and ...

... by the lake. A and E quickly spotted kids playing in the lake, and it was all we could do to get them to eat their lunch before they were splashing in the water. They quickly made friends with two little girls from Reno, and they spent about an hour playing along the lakeshore (they'd still be there if it were up to them!!).

D and I have driven this stretch of road numerous times, but typically just after the road had been re-opened from the winter snows. ...
