... Lake and Lake Mono and then turned onto the Tioga Pass which crosses the entire park at approximately 9,000 feet. Huge mounds of granite break through massive pine forests, all on a scale you just can't imagine. Climbers appeared as ants as they scaled the rocks. We also stopped at Lake Tenyaga and Olmsted Point before we reached Yosemite Village and El Capital, the largest granite monolith in the world. After having a lunch break at The Lodge we returned across the Tioga Pass to ...

We head off for a quick check-out of the and for something a little different find a Mexican restaurant above the strip and enjoy a couple of drinks a meal. ... by the lake. A and E quickly spotted kids playing in the lake, and it was all we could do to get them to eat their lunch before they were splashing in the water. They quickly made friends with two little girls from Reno, and they spent about an hour playing along the lakeshore (they'd still be there if it were up to them!!).

D and I have driven this stretch of road numerous times, but typically just after the road had been re-opened from the winter snows. ...

... driving. Just beautiful. How on earth anyone makes a living is beyond me. Mono lake was brilliant. A shame it's beauty came from the fact the government helped to ruin the lake by adding more water it actually made the salt double. We had our picnic lunch there. Now the greenies are in charge of the lake so hopefully they can sort it ...
