Hike to Mount Cook....well nearly
... 8217;t breath when we got there! It was beautiful as the terminal of the glacier was dropping into a blue lake, the down side was the glacier itself was covered in gravel and dirt, you couldn’t see very much. We hit the road and drove for about 300km back towards the east coast and stopped the night in a town called Geraldine.
Also got chance to call home today and speak to Toby on his 18th – happy birthday bro :-) ...

... Ich befolge ihren Rat und sehe lange nichts, bis es fast ganz dunkel ist und plötzlich irgendwas über die Straße läuft. Ein Pinguin!!! Und Schwuppdiwupp rennt da plötzlich eine ganze Gruppe hinterher… Das ist echt putzig. Jetzt fangen auch einige an im Gebüsch auf der anderen Straßenseite zu kreischen. Und nach und nach kommen an verschiedenen Stellen Pinguine die Steine hoch und laufen über die Straße. Die können ganz schön schnell sein und im Gegenteil zu den ...
What better place to run out of steam!
... the fantastic coastline and the amazing fish restaurant, we hardly wanted to move. But tomorrow we have to cover lots of miles as we only have 4 nights left. Have begun to ship water in our little camper, so off to Christchurch to trade it in for something drier!!

Oamuru, Milford Sound, Wanaka...
... is the first time I have stalked anyone!! (when I said quick I mean quickish as the Beagle is not really designed for speed). He stopped up a head brought out his – Binoculars, then a telescope and a camera. Apparently he saw a crested penguin but it had vanished, it obviously did not like all the paparazzi attention he was giving it.
