Enchanted Margarita Bats

A travel blog entry by bistromath on Jul 21, 2015

... bats under the bridge. It took a while, but they finally came out. It was a bit difficult to see them since the tour boats kept shinning lights on them which just made them difficult to see in the dark (other than to see that yes, they were in fact there). When the boats left we saw them much better (although not the huge swarm seen in some pictures).

Back to the hotel room to enjoy the view and wine, and play a bit of crib. Tomorrow is bbq and San Antonio!

The woman who served us was called Annie and she was so nice! Literally so professional and ...

... of our stuff and drove the six km to downtown Austin where we parked and walked around the great, in size not necessarily in looks, State Capitol building with a dome bigger than the one in Washington DC. It wasn't open though so it had to suffice to circumnavigate it and admire various statues in the park surrounding it. Some weird Christians around. No whops open but we found a nice bar with an outside patio where we had a drink each. ...

Further down the Green Belt, I met a lovely older lady from Washington who told me of the Hoh Rainforest and Ruby Beach among other places to visit.

Blues on the Green.
I met up with Luke and we began preparations for the final "Blues on the Green" (B on the G) of the summer. We parked near the high school and began our journey towards Zilker Park. We bobbed and weaved through the traffic across ...
