We'll be back!

... unable to see it. We had a nice day walking around the downtown area and just enjoying the awesome weather. We had some lunch at Whole Foods Market and enjoyed people watching at the capital building. After the long day of walking we found a this cool little bar, Little Woodrow's and watched the Yankes/LA. Not a bad way to end our stay in Austin, good beer and baseball playoffs!

Till the next time,

San Antonio to Stonewall to Austin, TX

This morning was a slower start to the day than usual, however, that was somewhat predictable. We got up and started heading out to the San Antonio Mission National Historical Park which is comprised of four missions. Mission San Juan, San Jose, Conception, and Espada. They together form the NHP and are on ...

Walking around

... there is a cluster of restaurants -- PF Changs, Fogo de Chao and other pricey places like that. But there are certainly a lot of bars that look interesting. Architecture here is interesting and pretty and it's nice and clean here generally. On my way back I saw big horses pulling a carriage. Folks were starting to head out for drinks as I was heading back around 9pm. I'm wiped. Time to sleep.

... and at generous prices, along with his touch at hiring only the friendliest wait staff, the opening of Threadgill’s in 1981 was a smash. Bon Appetit thought the food was so good that they ran a story about it, as did Gourmet Magazine.

Then over to the riverfront Park to walk off that Comfort Food that has us uncomfortably stuffed. Tim says there is a statue that I really want to see.

Then the waiter says he loves kids and is just working his way through an elementary education degree and stayed up all night making crucifixes for impoverished Catholics in Africa. We do not go out again. They’re now missionaries in Mozambique with half a dozen kids.

Meeting My Niece Libby for the First Time

My brother Eric had been busy while I was gone. He showed up a few hours before I left for Asia (on a one-way ticket with no plans to return) and told me he had just gotten engaged. A few short months later, he got married. Then they got pregnant on the honeymoon. Then they had a baby girl. Then his infant girl went from a few weeks old to a few months old, and I could see from pictures that she was adorable. Then a few days before I ...

By learning English, the hope is the children will be able to create their own economic opportunities in the future. In addition, I plan to help out in any way I possibly can. I leave for Tanzania in a few days. I have had countless shots in the last six months and now possess a summer's worth of malaria pills. I've got my mosquito net and a ...

Happy

So were happy. Leah is kicking butt and is really ahead of the curve with Family Heritage. I'm not doing as well as she, but I did buy a couple houses this week and am feeling comfortable in my new roll at Homevestors. We love our new place and Tuffy especially likes having a yard to play and poo in! I went to ...
