    We have a cold day today but a short one. We need to make Portland Maine so Carolyn can fly home. We stop at a state park called Battle Mountain and pay $9 entrance fee to take a 2 mile road up to the top. The view is of Penobscot Bay. It is colder on top with the wind than when we are on the bike. We are using our electric jackets to keep warm. We make a stop at the LL Bean super store for a few small purchases.     I have to admit, a sense of overwhelming relief came over me as Boston became a distant dot in the rear view mirror, not that I hadn't enjoyed the Ghetto, oh far from it, but I was majorly craving the quaint (safe) towns of New England and their country bumpkin ways of life again.

    Rockport became the first to satisfy these cravings, by way of location, art and food!

    We woke to rain as predicted. We've been very lucky with the weather as I think we could count on one hand the times we've had rain on this year's trip. And rain isn't a bad thing. The sound of rain on our roof is calming and relaxing creating a warm, dry cocoon feeling inside.
