    We left our place in Auckland this a.m. in a light drizzle as we boarded the LINK bus to where we caught the Airexpress bus to the airport. First time for us taking a domestic flight in another country (outside the US). Almost everything was self-check.     ... volunteer art projects people have put up around the city to try to fill in so many of the empty lots. They are projecting that it will take at least ten years to get Christchurch back on its feet, and these artworks will remain in place until then.     ... through and around sheep most of the time. They got out of the way for me.

    I also went on a sailing boat tour through Akarora Harbor. The captain was originally from New York. We saw dolphins, seals, penguins and albatross. The albatross have to run along the water for a while to take off.
