    We left our place in Auckland this a.m. in a light drizzle as we boarded the LINK bus to where we caught the Airexpress bus to the airport. First time for us taking a domestic flight in another country (outside the US). Almost everything was self-check.     ... and drive from one place to another (instead of returning it to where you got it), the rental car company has to get it back to the original branch. So instead of putting it on a big truck and shipping it back, they rent it to people for free, or a greatly reduced price, to drive it back for them! So I'm driving from Christchurch to Picton Ferry Terminal for $15! I'm doing it again once i get to Wellington and driving back to Auckland for only $1 a day. ...

    ... farmers' market in old town Cromwell. It is like a walk back in time, comparable to the old west of the US, with the exception that most old buildings have now been converted to art galleries as part of the Central Otago Arts Trail. After a brief lakeside picnic, Paul and I then drove to the tiny town of Clyde, which represents one end of the Central Otago Rail Trail.
