We spent the night in the RV at Cheaha State Park in Talladega Alabama.
We arrived early enough to take some pics as we headed up the mountain.
Poor RV had a tough time getting up some of the hills. I think we were down to about 15 MPH on a few of the steeper ones. What happens when we get out west :(

For or me, the finale was an anticlimax - debris at the end of lap 187 in front of the finish line and ...

I don't know if I mentioned it before, but when I think back on this trip, I realize that I started the trip with the most challenging driving conditions and the least experience with the MH: trying to change lanes in freeway traffic in the bay area, driving down 19th street in San Francisco and over the Golden Gate Bridge, up/down many huge huge mountains as I made my way through NV, ...

We picked up Adam in Charlotte and the first stop was the NASCAR hall of fame to warm up before the big Talladega weekend. It helped me to get more of a background on a sport that I know nothing about and I even got to be a pit crew for a working model car at a pit stop. I am impressed how fast they do it!

From there we headed inland into the Appalachian Mountains to a town called Asheville. We loved it, it was so beautiful and a mountain version of ...
