Gas across the Southern states is averaging $3.00 and I continue to average 8.5 MPG. Crossed numerous large rivers along the way today and through Talledega National Forest. Camped in Heflin, AL (halfway between Birmingham and Atlanta) for 2 nights.

Checked the weather in Ft Myers -- high of 85, low of 65 for the next several days. Sounds good to me! Still on track to arrive Ft Myers on Nov 20, if not before.

"Mommy, Williams not here," he says with big alligator tears. Matt and I explained that he left earlier with Julie and we could leave them a note before we left. As we got ready to go, Hugh drew a picture of the boys and him in the back chasing the chickens. It ...
