No blog yesterday out of San Diego. Just freeways, hot & dry. Stayed at Ridgecrest CA. Not much to say about it other than it is adjacent to the Sierra Nevadas and the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake. China Lake is an ...

This was our shortest travel day yet. Only took a little over an hour to get from Reno to the quaint little town of Gardnerville. Looking forward to 2 days hanging with Harry's Godmom Ginny, her husband Shane, kids Alicia, Max, Sarah, my namesake Tina & Jessie. I took lots of photos. I have posted a picture of the rest stop that we normally stay in in Tonopah. The mountain with all the snow is the tallest mountain in the state of Nevada, Boundary Peak, which is right near the border with California. There are several pictures of Mono Lake and several of the Walker River. I also ...

... trip. As an added bonus the route wasn't crowded and I was able to move at a pace faster than 10mph. The route to the pass had me climbing some of the steepest (26-28Degrees) roads I've ever seen. The road had few guard rails or barriers and was full of switchbacks and extreme elevation climbs with steep drop offs the entire way.

Coming down the eastern side of the mountain I was greeted by something unexpected. I started ...
