For some reason, I didn't have a great night's sleep. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling a bit sick, and just in time to receive a text from my sister, saying she has been admitted into hospital with high blood pressure due to her pregnancy. Giant Trees and a dirty Accomodation

Afterwards we head further south, drive through several small villages and end up in the evening in Orewa where we stay the night in a rather dirty backpacker, but surrounded by banana trees, at least something. We make a short walk down to the beach and enjoy the evening sun at the Hatfields Beach.

... We paused for a moment, and I could see in the atlas that the paved road was the easier way to go, but easier isn't always best. Bob gave it a "oh what the hell" as he put the car back in gear and started up the gravel road.
