Historical Traveler Reviews Amethyst Beach Motel Point Pleasant Beach

Best motel in Point Pleasant area!

    from

My family and I travel to the Jersey Shore often... Honestly, we had a wonderful time at the Amethyst Beach Motel in Point Pleasant Beach NJ. It is actually one of the best motels I have ever stayed in throughout my travel experience to the shore!! The staff was polite and helpful, the location was the best, the pool patio area was a wonderful surprise as it allowed us to sit with our kids by the pool while being close to our rooms. In addition, the beach was just a short walk from our room (less then 5 minutes), we could conveniently leave the car and easily walk to either the boardwalk or the shopping area.

We have read the negative review posted on this site and we strongly disagree!! We never saw or experienced anything remotely like what has been characterized by these reviews. If you're looking for a great place to stay during your vacation with wonderful service and a secure environment, my family and I highly recommend this place...

    Amethyst Beach Motel

    from

Just back from a beautiful week at the Jersey shore with my family. We stayed at the Amethyst in Point Pleasant Beach. I have to say the room was great the staff polite and the location was key being that close to the boardwalk. You know how busy the beach is and it was great to have the hotel right there for a dip in the clean pool. I have read some of the bum posts here and can honestly say our experience was nothing like that. My kids enjoyed the pool. I enjoyed not having to worry about parking. Restaurants and stores were a short walk.

Have stayed there For 4 Year's

    from

4 Summers ago we stayed at the Amethyst for 2 Weeks, we are a family of 5 and had the Greatest Vacation. Our room was cleaned everyday and fresh towels were always available if we needed more. Barbeque grills for us to use instead of going out or using the stove in our room. Every morning coffee, juice, fresh bagels and donuts No cooking in the morning. The employees were always polite and courteous and helpful with ordering take-in food and or directions, one of the girls at the front desk went so far as to call her mom for directions for us! After our great experience that summer we have been reserving the Amethyst (the whole motel) for Basketball tournament weekends 3 years in a row in June ( 2 weekends in of June 2004) and when we fill the place the staff gets rooms for our other familes in other local motels and ever family has been so pleased with their rooms the heated pool and how clean the keep the whole place was kept. The location to the Boardwalk is wonderful too. Thanks To Amethyst Owners and it's Staff for making so may of our Basketball families comfortable during their stay.

DONT GO HERE - DIRTY HOTEL WITH NASTY EMPLOYEES

    from

I just got back this weekend from staying at this hotel and never ever ever again would i go back.. I found the entire hotel to be very trashy including the people that were staying there. The rooms were not very clean and our sheets had big yellow stains on them which is totally gross. The rates were not cheap and the checkout time is not convenient..it is at 10am which is very early. The parking lot attendent was very nasty and he acted like his job was to be president of the USA instead of a parking lot (give me a breaK) i would never recommend this hotel to anyone...

The malicious and false postings which appear on June 28, 2004 and June 30, 2004 are obviously from the same person. The similarities appear as follows:

    DONT GO HERE

    "sheets had big yellow stains"

    NASTY EMPLOYEES

Both guests took issue with parking lot attendant and stated an incorrect checkout time of 10:am when 11:am is the actual time of checkout. This is no coincidence!

Our customers and our reputation for service are very important and we take these malicious postings seriously.

We invite each and every potential guest to call or visit us on the web. Stop buy and get a first hand look of our facility and judge for yourself. We serve approximately 10,000 guests a year and unfortunately once in a while find one or two guest who can never be satisfied.

    We Love Amethyst's!!!

    from

My daughter and I have stayed at Amethyst's for the last 4 years. We have always been pleased with our room. We were so happy to be so close to the amusement area of the boardwalk (great with the little ones) The microwave and the refrigerator helped us budget, and hot coffee by the pool everymorning didnt hurt either. I was happy to meet other families that also returned each year. We wouldnt stay anywhere else in PPB.

A place we keep going back to

    from

The Amethyst is a hotel we have been staying at for the past 5 years. If location is everything, then the Amethyst has it! The rooms were quite adequate, an overall 'family' environment, lots of flexibility and an attentive and friendly staff.

    Don't go Here

    from

Our friends had booked here so we wanted to stay at the same hotel with them. When we called to book they quoted us $30 more then our friend booked it at and then "realized" their mistake when we mentioned it. The room's definitely aren't first class, ours had urine on the toliet seat, stained sheets etc. I saw wet underwear drying on the railings everywhere. Definitely wouldn't go back at any price. On top of it a guy in a cart followed us to our car while I was loading our bags to leave to make sure we didn't leave our car in the lot past the 10AM checkout time. And when I told him we hadn't checked out yet (it was 9:40) he proceeded to put a notice under my windshield! I'm not an 18 year old drunken trouble maker either (we were all late 20's early 30's professionals). I guess the $600 plus dollars we spent on two rooms wasn't enough to maye leave the car and go get breakfast. Nasty people- would never go back.

    Sincerely,

    Theresa Perrone

    Amethyst Beach Motel

Amethyst Beach Motel is conveniently located overlooking the Board Walk Amusement area in Point Pleasant Beach. Directly across is a lovely park and Bands Shell which hosts weekly concerts followed by fireworks on the Beach. The staff was friendly and accommodating as were the rooms. The central location of the Amethyst allowed us to walk to the local shopping district as well as beach access. I would recommend the Amethyst Beach Resort and Point Pleasant Beach NJ to anyone looking for a clean upscale place to enjoy the Jersey Shore

    Amethyst Motel Caution

    from

The Amethyst Beach Motel is the dirtiest hotel I have encountered. The rooms smell bad, the bathroom is so dirty I feared walking without shoes. The tile is dirty, there was blood in the corner of the bathroom, and the sheets were not crisp at all. There were flies in the room and the thought of sleeping of bathing there disgusted me so much I checked out within hours. I did not even care about losing the money because I feared the conditions would make my children sick. I caution anyone thinking of staying there. Especially beacuse they are the listing that pops up whenever searching the area hotels.

It only yurts when it rains

... League Sports Bar, we had a short wait before getting a booth and had a nice meal which included vegies, always a bonus over here. The prices were reasonable and the serves weren't massive so we didn't waste any.
We returned to the yurt to sit out the night listening to the rain on the roof before hitting the bunks. Camping out was fun, it was a shame about the weather on our last day.

On Thursday the 17th of January we headed from Philadelphia to New Jersey, more specifically, jersey shore. We boarded the bus from Philadelphia early and ended up in Newark. Around 11. We were thinking, perfect, we are so on time, we will drop our bags and have the rest of the day to explore! Wrong.. Due to a lack of research, we jumped in a cab and asked them to take us to point pleasant beach and nearly had a coronary when the ...

When that happens, you both do the tradiional weapons form and then do your own freestyle form. Kathryn had a very solid performance. Then when it came time for her freestyle, she forgot it and winged it. Her smile to the judges was precious! Kathryn took 2nd in weapons. ...

Seeing nowhere suitable to park up for the night we continued on to take our chances at another New Jersey state park, this time Cheesequake near Aberdeen. It couldn’t have been more of a contrast to the last one. The staff were friendly and helpful (and hadn’t gone home early), there were security barriers in place and the showers were clean. Unfortunately there was no electric hook-up, but hey, you can’t have everything.

... tradition with the ever-modernizing world. For all our concerns about safety and crime in West Africa, the twenty-plus people in the group traveling there for several months experienced only two minor crime incidents: Blair's pocket was picked in Dakar and Trudy's chain was ripped off in Douala. Perhaps the extensive precautions we took along the way contributed to this good record, but I'm impressed by how little rather than how much crime there is in ...
