Years ago Mom said that she would like to take her 3 daughters to Chile to visit Gloria, who had lived with the Fergusons in 1970/71. Two weeks ago we decided that now is the time to make this journey. Dec. 2 we will fly from Milwaukee to Atlanta, GA to Lima Peru. We will visit Machu Picchu. Then we will fly to Santiago Chile.

We had a good time at The Wilderness resort. However, their customer service sucks! I found out later that is was not just us. Some other people we know went there about a month later and had the same poor customer service experience.

We enjoyed the indoor water parks and laser tag. Later that night we went to Ho Chunck Casion and had a little fun on the slot machines.

After a long and tiring search of an open campgroung in Checamegan State forest, we finally found a lovely spot next to a lake in a forest with the last rays of sun. Hey guys, As you might have guessed from the title of this entry, we are indeed done with our trip. Sr. Olson is back in Rice Lake with his family, and I sit here alone, writing this in Marshfield....it is a sad day. Well, only 36 hours until we head to the airport. We are both getting quite excited. Right now James is filing our ice axes before we pack them up. We are 98% packed and have a few things to get done tomorrow. We will try to update as soon as we have a free moment. We arrive in Auckland on their Friday ( our Thursday) and we are going to be staying with a friend and taking a nice shower and perhaps a nap. stay tuned for more info! Carol Lynn

This week we discovered something called wwoofing (willing workers on organic farms). There are some beautiful and amazing places we can stay in exchange for a few hours of work a day. There is a place called the Lazy Fish that is on the ocean in the Malbrouro(sp?) sounds that seems quite ideal. I think we are going to be doing a lot of this kind of work as we travel around. You can stay for a week or a month! Kind of fun. Still counting down the days. Carol Lynn

I am now in glamorous Green Bay, WI. I head off to Mexico City tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. (oh what fun). I will be in Mexico traveling from Mexico City to Guadalajara for a week and back to Green Bay for my road trip across the country back to California.
