15,237 steps later and we are trying to recuperate from our first theme park day at Disneyworld. What a day. As usual, upon entering the gate and taking those first few steps - it's that walk where you go under the Disney Railroad track and actually enter Main Street - Walt Disney's words posted there read: "here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy" and, on cue, my eyes well up with tears. What can we say? Animal Kingdom was just awesome! Personally, we felt that Animal Kingdom was probably the best Disneyworld Park at Orlando. It was like a zoo and a theme park put together. We loved the Yeti ride which was a fast rollercoaster up and around Mt Everest. The landscaping and design of the park was exceptional. They had separate lands such as Asia and Africa and others (but not Australia).

The best attraction by far was the safari which took us around 'Africa'. We ...

One such person described how the memorial had been designed by a university student who got a B+ for her efforts! The design cut a large slice into the earth depicting a scar in the side of the hill. It was the day before Veterans Day as there were flowers, photos and poems etc placed beside their loved ones names....very ...

... dodgy pair of DG's ($12) - looked real cool! Everywhere you look, there is something made out of lego, there are giraffes, zebras, people, birds in trees, however the thing that was most impressive was a life size Ford Territory and the detail was unbelievable!! Did absolutely everything this park had to offer. The kids went on all 4 of the parks roller coasters, amazing effort given their age and access to these rides in the past. Even ...

... then a sit by the pool before home. Luckily we had proper seats on the way home but not next to each other. Ugh! Some secret words to the check in desk saw us get adjacent seats on row 38 – next to the exit so loads of room to stretch out. More win.
Our first holiday together since meeting and I have to say for me, it was great fun and really excellent all round. Roll on the next extravaganza.
