We departed Lake Minnetonka around 10:30a, picked up the hounds and headed north / east. It was nice to drive through a traffic-free Minneapolis and even spotted a few of the University of Minnesota buildings where Mike went to college. Shortly after leaving the city we were greeted by a super-friendly Minnesota State Trooper ...

What is it about visiting family that invites the urge to indulge in the practice of frequent and frenzied eating!? Is it simply the break from routine that causes an ancient and deep yearning to FEAST!? I feel like whilst traveling an innate and primal urge overtakes me to dine on fine spiced meats (PA), cheeses (WI), and delicious ales (also WI)
Bottom line- I eat and relax in excess when I travel, especially if said travel involves family.

And so, I set off to meet my friend and get a ride to the airport from another friend, still deciding at the last minute what I can remove from the luggage, and trying to remember what I must add.

I will be writing next from Scotland, and very excited to be going back!

... ones. They are also bigger in size and have the red crest on the top of their head. We had to band the older araucana chickens so that we knew which were the older ones and the younger ones because soon the younger ones will grow to look exactly like the older ones and then we won't know which ones are laying the eggs! So Jim, Sarah and I went to attempt to band the araucanas... It was pretty funny, but very hard because some of them are extremely smart and they ...
