... the gardens were immaculate and well watered. I guess it pays to be a tourist destination. Lots more photos on the other camera so I will try to upload them later. Spent more time in Cambria, and went to a very nice pub steak house. I have to admit but the Americans do good food...may not be healthy but it is plentiful. Next day drove up the pacific coast to Carmel ...

We left Pebble Beach and straight away entered the area known as Carmel by the Sea - so pretty and much more affordable … well … some houses are. However the shops … for the most part that’s another story.

Air BnB Ted & Sissi - very welcoming!
Highlights: morning spent watching Elephant Seals at Ano Nuevo - lots of females moulting and a few juvenile males - also whale spot as soon as we got there! ... at the Pebble Beach Lodge. What a wonderful view although a little obstructed. They were tearing down the buildings set up for the First Tee Tournament from this last weekend. What a beautiful day! And, then, onto Carmel to do a little shopping.

We decided to eat at home and try to eat up some of the food in the refrigerator. We bought sand dabs since Dick enjoyed them the last time I made them. Need to clean ...

Today got off to a bit of a bad start, when we arrived to pick up our hire car we were advised that the entire city was short on cars (because of the America's Cup and a couple of other things) and that they had no car to give us and we would have to wait until one was returned, there were about 6 people already waiting before us..... this was quite frustrating, but we tried to stay positive, which ended up working out for us because we were given ...
