I'm not entirely fond of people. To be clear, I love my friends - they don't count as people. I'm referring to those unnamed masses - ridiculous & obnoxious, especially unavoidable at our national parks and landmarks. Tourists. I'd like to share a few favorites from the first month of this trip. Please overlook flaws in the composition - ...

This place rocks. Seriously we were all entertained from 10 till 4. Some totally mind blowing exhibits and awesome bits of information. The kids learned so much and were intrigued. From the ocean tank feeding to the puffins to the jellyfish to the penguins to the eels to the coral fish. Interactive displays, static ...

We decided to take highway 1 back to San Fran ..more veggie and berry farms ..with occasional view of coast. ...

The Old Fisherman's Wharf had been turned into paradise for tourist shops and restaurants. All restaurants claiming to be 'the' award winner for best clam chowder in Monterey. We did get free samples, and I enjoyed it (and Sian's sample too!). We grabbed some lunch and made our way to the ...

Monterey Road Trip

... there is an exhibit at the Aquarium. Almost three hours of driving later (Steve, not me - although being passenger is a tough gig when you have Phoebe and Blake to attend to in the back) we arrived to discover that the sea otter exhibit is currently being rebuilt and the sea otters are not on display. Although disappointed (we'd driven three hours to see the critters after all), we couldn't go back without going in, and, even without the ...
