No trip to the States is complete without a road trip, so we decided to drive from St Louis to Nashville.

We were definitely glad we did otherwise we would have missed views of the Great Plains, Rend Lake, Kentucky Dam and Metropolis, Illinois - home of Superman! The great museum is filled with Superman memorabilia and made a good stop on the way to our next stop and home of our good friend Ashley!!!

We stayed at Harrahs for the night. Room was comped because my mom often stays or gambles at one of their many owned hotels. If you gamble, make sure to get a players card. You can get some awesome deals. We tried out hand at some slots that night but no such luck for either of us.

Next stop was Fort Boonesborough. This is the town founded by Daniel Boone. We got to see what life was like for the Kentucky pioneers in 1775. We saw a weaver, a carpenter, and a blacksmith. We also got to watch as they made charcoal. You simply start a fire, then cover it with dirt and ...

We spent the holiday weekend at the campground at Land Between the Lakes. Lots of families camping and having fun. A great place to ride our bikes. The Hummingbirds were at the Wildlife Learning Center and Preserve. They also had wolves, owls, bobcats, ...

Today was another travel day. We left Topeka at 8:15 and 70 degrees and headed east once again. The drive took us across the rest of Kansas, and Kansas City (Sharon I was thinking about you), through the lower part of Illinois, and into Kentucky. We crossed the Mississippi River in St. Louis when we crossed into Illinois, and a few miles later, the Ohio River, when we crossed from Illinois into Kentucky. The Ohio River continues a ...
