Big day today. And I mean B-I-G.

We had arrived at our campground in Kingsburg, CA, yesterday (Thursday) afternoon. It was only a one hour drive from the Cummins repair shop. As per our routine on this trip, we haven't made any advance reservations. We search the internet for a campground close to where we want to be that night. However, being 4th of July weekend, we were pushing our luck to find a place with ...

Coffee is a wonderful thing..... It's just a pleasant way to wake up in the mornings:) We've become very good at searching, planning, prepping and booking. "Don't wake me up, Don't wake me up if I'm dreaming. California dreams… (the opening song to that 90's teen sitcom where a group of teens were in a band – yes it wasn’t as good as Saved by the Bell but it was up there!) and “I left my heart in San Francisco.." were belted out by me to Thomas as we headed to the airport on Saturday 3rd May for our Californian road trip. Thomas had never heard of either of those ...

... a half later we reached Fresno......at 6.30pm. Ten hours on the road it was great to finally be here. Fresno was founded in 1856 and was named for the abundance of ash trees. Fresno means ash tree in Spanish. It has a population of 500,000, is 290sq km in size and is the largest inland city in California. We checked into our hotel and took a short walk to Joes Steakhouse for a yummy ...
