Nice apart from the unusual whistling sound that occurs in Barstow when it's windy. Although thats not the hotels fault at all

So yesterday we entered our final state, California.

In the morning we headed down to Lake Havasu as there was a Speedboat festival going on, honestly it was Speedboats everywhere! Pretty impressive to look at, hundred of high powered boats just parading up and down the lake and the river. Real nice weather and again something completely …

... quick. lots of water, yet I'm still dehydrated. I'm glad I decided to keep it short. Disappointing is the fact that the Route 66 museum in Barstow isn't open. Of Special note is that Tonight marks my last night on Route 66. Wow. What an Adventure I'm having. ...

... We met a great lady named Sandra, who sold us some great trinkets!

From there we toured the Casa del Desierto. The first place I have seen that my beautiful wife would really enjoy. It is one of the famous restored Harvey Houses, which was a huge fancy hotel in the early 1900's. Harvey was famous for his Harvey Girls. They could serve dinner to 96 men in 25 minutes. ...

We left Las Vegas and the noisy upstairs neighbor at the resort, for a trip down memory lane in an old restored ghost town in California. The town was very nicely done, and most of the originality of the buildings is in excellent condition. It only took a little over an hour to tour the town and then it was on to hopefully a restful night at Bakersfield, CA.

Shortly after passing over the Nevada line into ...
