Last morning in Vegas was wistful for all of us after getting addicted to the slot machines. Yes, the thought about waking up in the morning and rushing to the casino after breakfast isn't possible anymore. During Vegas days the gambling demon rose up among the persons who I never expect to enjoy the particular excitement.
We sought local knowledge and with the temperatures due to hit the 105 degree F in Las Vegas. The thought of possible 115 to 120 in Death Valley was enough to have us decide to give it a miss. Noela and I set of early and Carl and Paola are joining the others a little later.
Looks like the fist part of todays ride will be all high speed interstate until we get to Barstow.

Just a little aside here. Thanks to our wonderful son and daughter-in-law for buying us dinner at the Olive Garden here in Bakersfield, Ca.

We rode into Oatman. It felt like you had just ridden into a cowboy town and there was going to be a gunfight at any time. The were signs up asking you not to feed the Burro's on the verandah of the town. We took a number of photos and headed onto Needles. We then rode onto more "Easy Rider" movie locations as we climbed the Sacred mountains.
Riding through the Mojave was enjoyable ...
... sank, I just pushed past the lead singer of out favourite band and I didn't even notice him, ****! We hung around sheepishly staring from a distance while trying in vain to both hide behind the thinnest lamp post ever. I told Keeley we have to go back and get a picture, surely this is a once In a lifetime opportunity. But how could we possibly walk past a second time and engage in conversation without looking like stalkers not to mention seriously desperate? I ...
