    ... the 1906 earthquake. In 1936/7 the bridges were built which meant the ferries weren't used much and the building fell into disrepair. The 1998 earthquake did damage, particularly to the road out the front (remember cars hanging over bits of upheaved road – well this was the place).     ... my poorly legs and **** from the bike ride!! Back on the bus and back to Fisherman's Wharf, quick In'n'out burger and animal fries (yum!!) before another quick change and pub tour. Happened to meet the tour guide on the bus to the meeting point. She was very knowledgeable San Francisco and North Beach but spent a lot of time rambling on about the places she had been and lived and took us to dive bars that had no stories ...

    ... beneath Union Square, and I knew I had to take a right to get in, so I hung out in the bus lane. At Union Square, I ended up in the crosswalk after getting confused about the garage, and I found myself staring at hundreds of pedestrians as they walked in front of and behind (and over, I think) the car.     ... these baby ostrich-sized birds to attack and kill pigeons. Consequently, there exist no flock of seagulls at Fisherman's Wharf, just gangs.
