A pale orange (apricot probably is more accurate) is painted behind the mountains on the California side of Lake Havasu. A vermillion blue is next, layered in upstrokes ranging from faint to nearly opaque. It is beautiful. There is something about the desert sky at sunset. It's big. Broad. Full of color and texture. And then there is the added quality that around sunset the temperature begins to drop from a hellish triple-digit to a mere high double.

This has been a once in a life time drive. Sense no one else in the family likes Country music, I am never allowed to play it while their in the car. But because we are in the wild wild west, the only music on the radio is country. Ye Har.

It’s a quick ride to the bridge, the Visitor Centre (free wifi), the library (free wifi), the bike trail around the island, London Bridge Beach, Bridgewater Channel, Rotary Park, stores, etc. (Brie – that bike bag/pouch you gave me sure comes in handy.)
