Today we caught an Uber (our first solo trip) to Culver City Station from where we got a Metro train to Downtown LA. We went to the Central Markets which were not great compared to the Narbonne, France Market but still interesting to see. We wandered around, visiting Pershing Square, some very ...

... stuff). We sat outside and gave the deets (details) about where we were from and how our trips out to Pasadena were.
After dinner we headed up a maze of hills and curved roads dotted with huge homes until we arrived at Bel Air Presbyterian Church. There we saw a pre screening of a film called Old Fashioned. Jake wanted to but you have to be 18 so no go. Another great day in LA Tomorrow Xmas day for us and we are celebrating it at universal studios and then at a basketball game - clippers vs golden ...

... in Hollywood :) It did not disappoint - we had burgers as you would expect, with "animal" fries, milkshake and pink lemonade. So good! I am getting fat in America lol In-N-Out was one of the cheapest meals we've eaten, and one of the best - fantastic :) We then went and watched Interstellar, on the biggest IMAX screen in the world. The theatre was so grand, and it was great just being there alone. They had some items on display in the lobby, like Judy Garlands dress from ...

    Weekend in LA

A travel blog entry by rabiensaul on Oct 17, 2014

... Venice Beach was great as was going to Santa Monica and what I thought was the start of Route 66. The Santa Monica pier is the end of the route, not the start! As was visiting Hollywood and the walk of stars. It's funny because they are just names on a sidewalk, and not the hand prints in cement like I'd always imagined. No just stars and lots of names. 2500 of them. We stop like good tourists and take photos with names we recognise. A lot of dead people. It's ...
