On bein' done asleep

... diverse radio selection here in Tennessee. (I'll confess to having sung one or two country songs that I remembered from that one little phase I went through a long time ago, but trust me, we're searchin' real hard for that lone Hot 100 station - unless it's bluegrass and/or Creedence, in which case I insist upon leaving it).

Tea is Extra Hun...

... Jeanelle told us. Unlimited amounts of fried chicken, fried fish, fried okra, french fries, mac n cheese, dinner rolls, baked potatoes and banana pudding for the low, low price of $7.25. “Tea’s extra,” Jeanelle warned us.

I knew this was the place in town since the neighboring table was sweetly celebrating a high school graduation. The table across the way sat a deeply committed couple of 50 plus years ...

One day to go and the adventure begins.

One day to go before the adventure begins. Today is prep day everything we need will be packed in the Navigator ready for take off Monday morning.  Our first destination will be St. Louis Missouri.  This is where the Chain of Rocks Bridge is located on the old Route 66.  We traveled  Route 66 from Oklahoma to California last year in our Motor home so we thought this would be a interesting place to see on this fun Route 66.

Fall Creek Falls State park

It was full of beautiful water falls and is the largest State Park in Tenn 22,000 acres and is well groomed. At the campground we met a couple from Colorado and his wife was born and raised at Big lake Alaska which is 40 miles north of Anchorage, so we got first hand info on what Alaska is like. The Worst Part of My Trip

... All I here is that jerk honk and drive on. So I'm pretty ****** cause I had just realized that I now have to walk the next five miles pushing my bike. Then I noticed the screen of my Ipod is cracked. Hold on I'm getting a little choked up here. "Ipod rest in peace." And now i'm back to being ******. Oh wait now the back gears on my bike are messed, I think I'm going to break down. Jerk.

Pit Stop: The Waffle House

I'm about five miles in, and extremely hungry, mainly because the cafe is closed and I wasn't able to eat, so its Waffle House time. If you have ever been to the South at some point you can better understand the Waffle franchise. Their ...

Way to Early

So today's the day Southern University to Downtown Chattanooga. Suppose to be 23 miles one way and 46 miles round trip. I got up around 6:00 am and I know what you're thinking. Does 6:00 am even exist? At first I didn't believe so, but it totally does. Anyways I'm grabbing my Ipod and hitting the road at 7:00 am. Ipod Playlist #1: Bicycle Race- Queen. (I thought it was appropriate)

Jamie, Sayward, and Chris

... following weekend, Joseph and I made the drive down to Crossville, too, and spent a couple of days with my crazy family! We played games, drank Moquitos, ate birthday cake, and helped Say and Chris pack for their cross-country trip to Alaska. Believe it or not, these simple tasks were a lot of fun and memorable.

Superbowl Sunday in Music City

... dancers and they sounded great. The dance floor was full of locals shakin their stuff and getting right into it. Between songs I struck up a conversation with an American guy beside me. He offered to buy me a beer. Sure, ill have a beer. Oh, lets have Jagermeister shots too he says. Sure, why not. So after a few more shots and a few more beers, all on this guys tab I'm feeling pretty good. His name is Mark and had come here with his friend and business partner Scott for a meal and a ...

The Trial

... is Bryan College, a four-year Christian liberal arts college named for William Jennings Bryan. Just 2.5 miles out of town, on Richland Creek Road, is the Laurel-Snow Pocket Wilderness area -- 710 acres with waterfalls and a hiking trail; ascents of about 900 feet. Bed & Breakfasts here -- the Magnolia House with fireplaces, full breakfast, and dinner with reservations; and the Rose House, a Victorian cottage built in 1892, antique furnishings.
