... as we were now running low on fuel, so had another Pitt stop this time for gas. We asked where was best to stay, considering there were 3 hotels surrounding us and in full view, but he said he could get us a discount if we wanted to stay a little further up the road about 2 miles away. His boss owned it and came out for a chat with us, He gave us his card with his name + 20% discount off room rate @ EconoLodge - on Route 66, Highway Z, Saint Robert near Waynesville. ...

6:30 am start hopefully to beat the wind and any storms coming through later. Glad to see the last of Oklahoma. Stopped in Rolla, MO. So far we've missed the rain. This structure is 630 ft high and 630 ft wide. Each side was built independently and they met up perfectly at the top when they put the keystone in. Each ...

Odometer reading 598.7 miles We arrived fairly late last night so no real chance to have a look around, but got up this AM, went for a small hike and ran into a park ranger. She told me the forest here is primarily oak which would usually be green by now, but the very harsh winter they had mean no leaves for the oaks yet. I asked ...

... like planned and filled up with gas ($150) in Bloomington, Indiana. After that we'd hoped to pick up the last few odds and sods and instead spent far too much time running around shopping (Target, Lowes, Sears, Finish Line). Because we spent so much time waylaid, we had to skip the lunch. Instead we drove through St Louis which was beautiful! Would like to go back and spend some time there. Our GPS had no clue about the ...
