    We left Birmingham after spending a couple hours at the Sloss Furnaces. They are National Historic Landmarks, the only 20th century blast furnaces being preserved as a historic industrial site. It was very interesting! The signs that explained the equipment and procedures needed to be updated (things had been moved or the path changed, but the signs didn't reflect that).
