Around 5.30 there was still no sign of a break through on Spirit's maintenance problems so I bit the bullet and bought a $440 one way ticket to Miami on a Copa flight which was leaving at 7pm. After 5 months of cold & snow it was time for some beach action. The hostel was literally 100 steps from the beach, perfect! By far I was the whitest person on that beach, so much so that people stared at me! As it was completely off season the main people there were either Caribbean/Hispanics or old retired white American. this latter group were the darkest people!

Moved onto Paradise Island RV Resort at Fort Lauderdale. We went to the Winterfest Boat Parade on the New River at Fort Lauderdale. Nothing short of spectacular. 100 boats decked out in their Christmas lights, with lots of entertainment on board. Fireworks and laser show. Met some great people. Fantastic night!! Couldn't stop taking photos.
